Need case studies - Cross-team onboarding
I'm in the midst of writing recommendations to my CEO regarding changing our onboarding process to bring a newcomer through sitting with multiple other teams across the organisation before starting their official job.
Does this ring any bells on specific companies, it would be a great help if anyone could link some my way!
I don't recall any specific organizations, but does this help: https://corporate-rebels.com/research-5-kinds-of-social-networks/
Thanks Pim and hi Thomas,
Yes, we do have such an onboarding programma at Viisi. Our new 'Viisionairs' spend several weeks in each of our core teams, varying from customer service to more technical teams. They are fully emerged in the daily work of the teams and get as many operational roles as possible during those weeks. It helps them to thoroughly understand our business and meet their new colleagues, before starting their 'official work'. It also lays a solid foundation for cooperation between teams, as there is mutual understanding of what exactly it is other teams do, what their challenges are etc.
Hope this helps! Best, MP
Earlier this year, I wrote about VkusVill, the Russian supermarket chain that is reinventing the retail industry. The Russian pioneer proves that you can rapidly scale a profitable chain of retail shops by letting frontline employees make all the important decisions. They do this with impressive results; the company is not only growing rapidly (CAGR 40%), it also manages to keep bureaucracy and hierarchy to a minimum, as upper management accounts for less than 10% of the total payroll.
Today marks an important day in Corporate Rebels’ vaunted history: We're embarking on a new adventure to radically shake up the world of work. How? We're launching a new company together with some of the most inspiring workplace pioneers in the world.
