Hello Rebels, have you heard of Fontys Pulsed? Fontys most probably you have heard of but Pulsed? And its founder, Jochem Goedhals who is on a mission to redesign the educational system and not only but focus on not only the professional development of students but also personal.
He effortlessly manages to transfer that vision to whoever he meets that has an open mind and sees the same problem you guys saw couple of years ago at the bar in Barcelona.
Fontys Pulsed believes the change in the world starts in education and reading your book makes me believe that statement even more.
As part of the Pulsed team while reading your book I realized that besides the higher purpose it serves Fontys Pulsed is a great place for talents to develop themselves and have the entrepreneurial spirit. Hey email@example.com Sam Calagione started Dogfish head brewery in 1995 and 10 years later he wrote “brewing up a business”. It’s the story of his brewery, restaurant and beer and it’s a fantastic business book. My partner who is a kitchen designer/maker read it a few years ago when considering starting a micro brewery, it turned out to be an incredibly useful book for his kitchen business and one I then read when starting my own Italian street food bar. Brewing up a business has been incredible useful to us both for two totally different businesses. He made many mistakes along the way but really promotes making business and work fun and doing things differently. I would go as far to say he might be an original rebel! I can’t recommend reading it enough. I believe Sam has only just finally merged the company for $300m so I guess he happily run the business for 25 years and is now taking it easier at 51years old. I really think you would enjoy his story. I’d love to hear if you do and if you get to speak with him.
Another person you need to speak to us Mary Portas! She wrote a fantastic book called “Work like a woman” this a really important book and now more than ever. It’s really about changing how we do business traditionally, how we have tended to think traits that women have in business are seen as weakness and therefore encouraged to behave more like men (mostly arsehole ceo types) where are we should be encouraging the opposite, we should be encouraging to use and trust our instincts and emotions and support each other rather than tread on each other to get to the top. It’s well work a read and perhaps speaking to Mary. It would be great to see more women on your list!

They have a methodology which allows a traditional hierarchical organization to deploy self managed project teams to make decisions, including mission/strategy/problem solving. There are many organizations currently practicing the methodology in Mexico, Russia and Europe.
Talk to Reto Meyer of the yellow.agency in Basel. About two years ago he started a creative agency with the idea of forming the antithesis to the traditional hierarchical advertising agencies. His model is driven by roles, talents, teams and personal responsibility. Definitely worth looking at.
