The Sagrada Família Of Books

“The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família is a large unfinished Roman Catholic church in Barcelona. It was designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. And the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.”

What the hell has the Sagrada Família to do with Corporate Rebels? Here’s a hint.

An extremely long construction period

The construction of the Sagrada Família began in 1882 and is – at least for now – expected to be finished somewhere between 2026 (the centenary of Gaudí’s death) and 2032. Expected, that is.

Over 137 years various circumstances have caused delays to the completion of this controversial building—including protests, civil wars, funding issues and politics.

When asked why it was taking so long, Gaudí – roughly 100 years ago – responded cheekily: “My client is not in a hurry.” He was referring to God.

Oops, we did it again

While we are pretty sure God is not our client, and that we have yet to face civil wars or protests, there is a common theme between the Sagrada Família and the Corporate Rebels book when it comes to delays.

To cut to the chase, our book is delayed—once more. The most recent publishing date was September 2019. But we’re pushing it forward once more.

Why? Simply, the book isn’t yet where we want it to be. When we put the entire manuscript together, we reviewed it (again!) with some experienced editors. The feedback? We’re not 100% there, given our ambitions. So, although another delay was a big deal for us, we made the decision in the blink of an eye.

We are keenly aware we are disappointing many people. (We have 4,000+ pre-registrations, and the publisher, book stores and book trailer were all ready.) However, the reason we made this decision so quickly was simply about quality. That, and the potential of the book are infinitely more important than a few months wait.

And there is a bonus. We now have material for our future blog post: “The Biggest Mistakes We Made Writing A Book”.

02-02-2020

What you probably want to know now is: “What is the new release date?” Here it is: 02-02-2020! Sounds to us like the perfect date for a book release.

Will we actually make that deadline? There’s only one good answer to that: “Our client is not in a hurry”.

If you are in a hurry: pre-register here and you’ll be the first to know when it’s finished.
