Professional and serial entrepreneur continuously creating thriving teams and healthy working environments. I strongly believe in lean and self-managed teams as the new way of working today. I have a proven track record in creating value in the transportation industry by bringing in creativity, innovation and collaboration. My focus in business is to provide disruptive technologies not only in the transportation and logistics industry but any other industry as well. I have managed simultaneous logistics projects with efficiency, professionalism and effectiveness. I can face engineering projects with a greater sense of inclusion, socialization of the different phases, contributing in the technical field as well as the business processes. I offer effective and continuous responses to the ongoing changing conditions in the environment. I possess the ability to learn and adapt to new situations always searching for the best solutions in support of the different constituents in the various communities I am involved with.In 2006, I founded Zaro Transportation in Laredo TX, on the US/Mexico border, with the purpose of providing a great working environment for our drivers, staff and their families, serving the import/export market between US/Mexico. We started with 5 trucks, and we had a tight-knit group who were able to manage things organically. Naturally with this culture, we grew, and we added more drivers, customers, and staff along the way. As we scaled, we adopted formal management practices and developed our own technology platform, but began to lose the essence of our close-knit culture that we started with. We saw that we needed to improve how we communicated and managed, and we also wanted to create an environment that our employees felt proud to be a part of. In 2019, we began experimenting with self-managed teams, with surprisingly good results (mainly, everyone was happier!). So, in 2020, we committed to fully transform the whole organization by our own design, and we call this Zarocrazy (based off of Zaro-cracy). This new style of working provides more freedom and trust for everyone, where teams are self-managed, leadership is cultivated and success is shared.
