The Corporate Rebels Handbook - How We Handle Fuck-Ups, Meetings, and Compensation

One of the main principles we rely on at Corporate Rebels is radical transparency. And what better way to live up to that than to share our company handbook with you?

So, I’m assuming most of you are at least somewhat familiar with who we are and what we do.

For those who may be a little new to us, I’ll make it quick: we are Corporate Rebels, and our purpose is to make work more fun.

Now, that’s a pretty loaded mission statement and, admittedly, maybe even a little ambiguous. But don’t think too hard—we really are trying to make work more fun. For us. For people we don’t know yet. And certainly for you.

Why? Because it’s a waste of time to do work you’re not passionate about. Monday through Friday shouldn’t be a long wait for the weekend to begin. We believe that work shouldn’t be this dreadful for so many people around the globe.

Work can and should be a place for passion, growth, and meaning. A place where you can develop your skills and talents and contribute to something you truly believe in.

As you know, this is not an easy thing to achieve. There’s a lot that goes into it, and it’s never really a finished process.

Why are we doing this?

We use this space to offer up opinions and studies on plenty of other companies and how they do things, along with their successes and failures. We share with you what we learn from pioneering companies and those willing to try different things in their quests to make work a more fun and fulfilling place.

But now it’s time for us to tell you more about how we do things. After all, it’s only fair.

So, with that said, it’s time to kick off a new blog series covering our own internal Corporate Rebels handbook that outlines our own way of working. During this series, we will go through all of the main sections of the handbook and share our thoughts behind each one, all while providing an unobstructed view of how we operate.

Although we live in a world of non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality, that’s not how we do things here. We are rebels, after all.

This includes everything from internal processes like how and when we work to conflict resolution, goal-setting, and even our compensation model. We’ll even tell you all about things like Rebel Day (our monthly meeting) and how we acknowledge, own, and overcome a wide range of fuckups.

That’s right; we’re not sparing a single detail. Why would we? Although we live in a world of non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality, that’s not how we do things here. We are rebels, after all.

A quick preview

Here’s what you can expect to see as we go through this handbook series:
